The following article appeared ion MSN Money:
Why Every Beer Costs You More
The byline was this:
As the tab for a Budweiser crept up this year, its executive salaries jumped 92%. Here's why beer is getting more expensive while other food and beverage prices drop.
But using their own referenced figures and some info from the Anheuser Busch website, I deduced the following. The top 13 Anheuser Busch executives make 146 million dollars a year. According to their website they sell 104.4 million barrels of beer a year. That’s 1.456 billion cases of beer. So the entire executive pay accounts for about 10 cents a case. You have to read to the bottom of this thing to get the fact that supply and demand is the real culprit. People are drinking more and cheaper beer because the economy sucks.
