Race and Politics
I think the worst thing about the election for me is having to face something that I had been willing to pretend didn’t exist for some time. Black resentment. I can’t count how many times I heard “It’s time for a black president” from politicians, celebrities and even a UFC fighter that I follow who hails from Brazil. I ignored it. Black people voted over 99% for obama. A man who is a terrorist sympathizer that voted to allow babies to die and supports gay marriage. His views are the complete opposite of those held by the majority of black Americans. But he’s black. Or half black. That’s another thing. Why do people who have one black parent consider themselves black and not white? Why do obama and Halle Berry identify more with the black father that abandoned them than with the caring white parent that raised them? I digress. I think it’s now obvious that as long as people have skin, racism will exist. And evidently it’s not the people that lack melatonin that are most influenced by it.
